Fight The Bite Contest!

Fight The Bite is a tick and mosquito awareness contest sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDCP) and DEET Education Program. The nationwide contest is open to all 5th and 6th graders. Two winners from each state will be awarded a $50 U.S. Savings Bond. The two national winners from each grade will receive a $1000 savings bond. They will be recognized on an all-expense-paid trip to the Fort Collins, Colorado CDCP facility with their family in June!

Participants are asked to avoid using glitter or cotton balls to enhance their entry. They are encouraged to use pencil, charcoal, pens, and pastels. Submissions will be judged based on design, proximity to the contest theme, and the use of color. The winning posters may be displayed at CDC offices and state and local public health agencies.
All entries must be postmarked by or on April 5, 2010. You can find more contest information on rules, previous winners and entry forms at ww.fightthebitecontest.org/. Winners will be notified via mail and acknowledged on the contest website by May 15th. Please contact info@fightthebitecontest.org regarding any general questions.

CAPCO Video Contest!

A new year brings more than new resolutions. This year it comes with an opportunity for you to showcase your talent. The Consumer Aerosol Products Council (CAPCO) is sponsoring a video contest to help provide a fresh view of today's aerosol package. You don't have to be Steven Spielberg or Martin Scorsese because entries will be judged on creativity, humor, motivational effectiveness, content accuracy and production quality. Winners will receive prizes of $1,000, $500 and $250; and selected videos will be posted on YouTube and may be used to promote the aerosol package.

While zeal is encouraged, each entrant may submit only one entry for review that satisfies YouTube's community guidelines and terms of use agreement. Make sure to send your most creative, well-produced concept before March 31, 2010.

Visit the contest website to learn more about submission requirements and official rules. You can also e-mail blafield@cspa.org regarding any additional questions or comments.
