On June 26, 2011, ACE launched its Heroes of the Health League Program at th
e Bowling Green Hot Rods Stadium in Kentucky. In partnering with the Hot Rods, AA minor league affiliate of theTampa Bay Rays, ACE was also able to strengthen its relationship with minor league baseball.
The event ultimately exceeded initial expectations with immediate spikes in traffic to the newly designed
Consumered.org and the game proved even more popular than we had anticipated. Feedback from attendees that day was so positive that the team has agreed to keep the signs up all season.
Every individual entering the stadium received a co-branded ACE / Hot Rods baseball. At the
entrance and throughout the stadium, tables were set up where the children could design their own hero badge.ACE partnered with the Kentucky Regional Poison Center so both ACE and the Poison Center addressed the crowd with an educational message. The event was timed to coincide with kindergarten graduation in South Central Kentuck
y so all participating kindergarten graduates were invited to an on-field parade of local heroes including first responders, firefighters, police, EMTs, teachers, poison educators, military, and baseball players. On the main concourse a large screen monitor was set up where children and accompanying adults could visit the Heroes of the Health League site and play the game.
